Shared Narratives

Shared Narratives is a PEACEPLUS-funded cross-border storytelling project delivered by EventWise NI in partnership with Louth County Council.

The programme brings together diverse, divided and often overlooked voices to explore conflict, identity, peace and the future through creative and meaningful engagement. Using storytelling as a bridge, Shared Narratives creates space for people from different backgrounds to reflect on lived experience, hear one another’s perspectives and contribute to a wider conversation about understanding, belonging and reconciliation.

Over two years, the programme will engage participants across Louth and Northern Ireland through a range of creative and educational strands including film, theatre, photography, writing and facilitated dialogue. It will work with women, young people, those affected by conflict, ex-political prisoners, security force voices and others whose experiences deserve to be heard and valued.

Shared Narratives will produce a range of public-facing outputs including exhibitions, a documentary film, a new stage play, creative publications and educational resources. Alongside these outputs, the project is designed to build meaningful relationships across communities and support deeper reflection on the past, present and future of this island.

At its heart, Shared Narratives is about connection. It is about creating thoughtful, respectful spaces where stories can be shared safely and where creative practice can help people engage with difficult histories in ways that are human, constructive and forward-looking.

Delivered through:

  • Cross-border storytelling and dialogue
  • Creative writing and photography workshops
  • Educational engagement with young people
  • Theatre, film and public-facing cultural outputs
  • Relationship-building across communities and backgrounds
